Buckfast Abbey is a Catholic Benedictine Monastery.  It is a place of worship, a tranquil tourist attraction and has a range of commercial activities.

All aspects of the Abbey, be they pastoral or commercial, are the responsibility of the Monastery and to assist in this a Chief Operating Officer is sought.  This is a large role as the activities of the Abbey are complex and future strategies include a significant capital project. The COO will also manage a team of dedicated professionals covering all functions. In addition, there will be regular meetings with the Trustees of the Charity.

Applicants should be Executives who have experience of general management gained within complex but value focused enterprises.  It is essential to have commercial insight, robust operational skills and relish working with a community where values are at the centre of all activities.  In exchange for your talents, the Abbey offers a unique working environment and the opportunity of an interesting, challenging but productive role.
