Youth Ministry Coordinator
Salary £30,000 – £33,000 per annum plus benefits
A rare opportunity has occurred to take youth ministry in the Diocese of Northampton into its next phase of development.
A creative leader is sought to build on an already strong ministry, serving the young people of our local church. The Diocese of Northampton places youth as a key priority, and has developed over the years a well-regarded youth ministry service (NYMO). The successful candidate will be joining an extremely supportive diocese, which is excited to hear their ideas on the future of this vital ministry.
Working with the support of a Director of Youth Ministry, the Youth Ministry Coordinator will aim to enrich and support the fantastic ministry already undertaken in many parishes and schools. Contributing to the creative development of the youth ministry office will be a challenging and fulfilling part of an experienced youth ministers journey.
This developing role requires confidence and openness to seek God’s will for the young people of our diocesan family. Through meeting and listening to the young people, their parish mentors, clergy and family, you will provide support that meets their needs and encourages the outcomes of the SYNOD in 2018.
While the Director of Youth Ministry will take ultimate responsibility for the strategy, staff management and budget, the Youth Ministry Coordinator will be responsible for:
This role is a senior role, therefore experience in youth ministry and leadership is desirable. Above all we are looking for the right character to grow this precious diocesan asset to the next level.
Applicants are required to be a practising Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church, and have a full driving licence and own vehicle. This role is also subject to a DBS check.
We will reward commitment to our diocese and the role, with regular development opportunities as agreed with the Director of Youth Ministry and in line with the senior nature of the role.
We work to a 35-hour week, which will include some evening and weekend work.
